The Journey:
After finding success with our original version of the Climate Action Kit in 2019, our team set out to completely redesign the Climate Action Kit at the beginning of 2023. We took everything we had learned over the past four years and completely redeveloped both the physical hardware kit as well as online software offering.
As the Head of Product & Design, I oversaw all of the design choices when it came to the physical hardware design as well as the online learning platform. On the hardware side, this included things such as material and colour choices for building blocks, packaging, and PCB silkscreen designs. On the software side, I oversaw the user experience and functional design of the online learning platform.
Throughout the entire development of the Climate Action Kit, I worked directly with a small group of education consultants, conducting user interviews and running design sprints to implement feedback. It was also within my responsibility to manage the overall product roadmap and ensure consistent communication was maintained throughout our team. This took the form of a Product Requirements Document and weekly product standup meetings.
