The Goal:
Design and build a custom online learning platform to host the Climate Action Kit supporting lesson content for students and educators.
The main deliverable was an online learning platform that would allow educators to quickly access lesson content, view curriculum connections, and share content with students in a way that was login-free and allowed them to easily navigate the content and follow tutorials on their own.

The Journey:
When our team at Forward Education set out to completely redesign the Climate Action Kit, we knew that we would need a custom online learning platform solution to support it. Using WordPress and a learning management system (LMS) plugin called LifterLMS, we designed and built a custom solution that was tailor-made for our specific custom user case.
As the Head of Product & Design, I was responsible for laying the groundwork as to what this platform would look like and how it would function. Our unique use case meant I had to conduct dozens of user interviews to uncover the most important requirements and functionality of the platform. In doing so, we quickly discovered that we needed an easy-to-use online platform that would allow educators to access ready-to-use classroom lesson content that could be shared easily with students, login-free. Furthermore, we discovered that the content within the lesson needed to be bite-sized and easily digestible for students who would be navigating the content on their own.
To achieve this, I led our small design team to build an online Learning Platform that was clean and easy to navigate for teachers while also creating an engaging and rich experience for students within the lessons themselves.
